This summer, I had the honor of participating as a trainer in the Content Creation Summer Camp organized by the New Media Academy in Dubai.
It was a truly unique experience on every level—not only because I trained a group of passionate students, but because we worked together on one of the most essential skills in the digital age:
Building a personal brand as a content creator, and creating meaningful, value-driven content.
From day one, it was clear that the participants were genuinely eager to learn—not just to pass time in a summer program. That gave me room, as a trainer, to go deeper, to design a learning experience that focused on depth over surface-level trends.
We began by deconstructing the concept of “personal branding.”
I explained that personal branding isn’t just about a logo or catchy username—it’s a complete digital identity that reflects your values, character, and content, and is built gradually over time through behavior, style, and substance.
Discovering Passion and Purpose
We conducted personal exercises to help each participant identify their passions, recognize their strengths, and choose topics that truly mattered to them.
Without this self-discovery, content often ends up as imitation or repetition.
Then we moved on to creating a Personal Brand Map for each participant:
- What’s the core message you want to deliver?
- Who is your ideal audience?
- What values do you want to be known for?
Meaningful Content vs. Empty Entertainment
We then discussed the difference between fleeting entertainment and content that creates lasting impact and connection.
Each participant chose a topic they felt they could present from a personal, original perspective—not just replicate what’s already trending.
We used platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube as case studies and began producing short videos that embodied each participant’s personal brand and conveyed a clear message.
The results? Remarkable.
One student focused on simplifying science for kids, another on sharing his journey overcoming anxiety.
Each idea had clear roots and a strong identity—which was exactly the goal.

Content Creators With Purpose
What moved me most was seeing a genuine sense of responsibility in their eyes.
They understood that being a content creator today isn’t about just filming random videos—
It’s about influence, impact, and intentional storytelling.
And building a strong personal brand is not a luxury—it’s a necessity for anyone who wants to sustain their journey and create real change.
As the program came to a close, I left with confidence that the future holds a new generation of creators—
Creators who don’t chase trends… but build value, know who they are, and why they do what they do.
